Teeth Grinding (Bruxism)

Concerns

Teeth Grinding (Bruxism)

Teeth grinding, or bruxism, is a common problem in which the person unconsciously clenches or grinds their teeth, most often during sleep. Contributing factors may include stress, anxiety, bite irregularities, or excessive muscle tension. Over time, the issue can lead to tooth wear, jaw pain, headaches, and excessive build-up of the lower face muscles.

Treating bruxism requires a targeted approach aimed at reducing the over-activity of the jaw muscles, easing painful symptoms, and improving quality of life. The appropriate therapy is always selected after an individual assessment.

Causes

Why does it develop?

Stress, jaw positional differences, and muscle tension can all trigger it. It often occurs unconsciously during sleep.

Our approach

The BEMED method

After assessing the masseter muscle condition, we recommend targeted muscle-relaxing treatment to reduce excessive muscle activity.

What to expect

The path to results

Reduced muscle tension, less pain, and more comfortable daily life.

Recommended treatments

Our recommended treatments for bruxism

Botulinum toxin treatment

Botulinum toxin treatment

Targeted treatment of the jaw closing muscles reduces muscle over-activity, easing both grinding and the associated pain while preserving the natural chewing function.

Combined treatment

Combined treatment

Where appropriate, the treatment can be combined with other therapies - dental or lifestyle solutions - for longer-term results.

Every treatment begins with a personal consultation.
